Wild is Life

Today we went to a sanctuary called “ Wild is Life” which apparently had a pangolin. When we got in, we saw a baby elephant with a little baby goat. While Mommy was signing a waiver, we saw a cage full of birds, and past that, we saw two peacocks. Then, Mommy came and said we couldn’t go past the cage. Inside the cage, there were some parrots, and a black bird. Then we saw some swings which we went on. After a bit, a guide named Shawn told us our schedule. Then, we went to feed some giraffes and pigs. Luckily, the giraffes did not really drool like the last time we fed them in Safari West. Then, it was time for a little snack. When we got in, we went to the nearest table and sat down. But it looked better than I  thought it would be. It was a big platter full of sweets. Then, we went to watch the elephants get fed. They were fed elephant food and got to drink a big bottle of milk. They told us about their story’s, but some of them were sad. Like for example, one of them was going around with her mother and her mother got hit by a bus and then some people came and thought she was dead so just killed her mother in front of her. Then, when they found her she had PTSD so when ever she felt stressed out one of the other elephants named Moyo would wrap her trunk around her and didn’t let her go until she wasn’t stressed. Then we went to see the lions be fed, but one of them was blind so we couldn’t see or it would be really startled. They were fed horse meat. Then we went to see the pangolin which was named Marimba. We got to see it stick out it’s tongue which is one meter long! Apparently it is stored in a pouch in it’s belly. We also got to see it walk. We then saw the hyenas named Athena and Harry. Athena couldn’t really move because her leg was paralyzed. Harry ran with us though. Then we went to have another little snack. When we got inside, a person named Christine asked us what we wanted to drink and Bryce and I asked for a Fanta. Then we went outside and there was another platter full of food. What I really wanted  was the breadsticks. Then we got two glasses of Fanta and then we got on some bed swings. Then, we went back to the cottage.

  1. Glad to hear that these giraffes had better etiquette and didn't drool on you!
