On the first day, we took a long bus ride to the first camp, and when we got there we ate some kimbap for lunch. We were split into two groups, A&B. I was put into group B and was separated from my friend Benji. They taught us how to use the cooking materials, set up the tents, and tie different knots. Next, we played a game where we had to use map orienteering skills. For dinner we ate pasta, and we slept inside a room.

On the second day, we drove to the next campsite and set up tents. They taught us how to use the kayaks and raft and let both groups try them. I liked kayaking better because the raft is slower, and everyone was uncoordinated. With kayaking it was faster and more fun. For dinner we had Korean noodles.

On the third day, Group B rafted to the next camp and group A kayaked there. We set up tents and took showers. For dinner we cooked bulgogi. I helped fry the onions, mushrooms, and cook some of the beef. We had a bonfire were we got watermelon and roasted marshmallows.

On the fourth day, Group B kayaked to the next camp and Group A rafted. We had to walk to the next camp because it was a seven minute walk away from the beach. It was the nicest camp and had mini houses for three people. I wanted to stay with Benji, but Ryosei and Doyun were also my friends. We all played rock paper scissors, and Benji had to sleep with other people. We had ramen dinner, and three 14 year old friends who were misbehaving during the trip had to fish the plastic jam containers out of the food waste bin. Ryosei Doyun and I watched a Korean action movie until eleven.

On the last day we played rope games in the morning. We got on the bus and drove to a Korean restaurant and then got back on. We drove back to the camp building, and while we waited for the buses to be ready, Benji and I played a game on his phone called The Battle of Polytopia. When the buses were ready, I got on bus number five and went back to the hotel.

  1. What a great outdoor camp week you had, Bryce! I also liked hearing about the Korean food you were served and how you helped prepare one of the meals, especially since you are an experienced chef, as well as an experienced camper. Also glad to hear you made some other friends besides Benji.
