Part 1: Switzerland with Eric, Hannah, Grampy, Mayonnaise, and Sneaky Sasquatch Part 2: Italy, Torture, and the hazelnut gelatos + “If you wish to have a luck, Just dream about a duck”

So, on the first day, we met up with Eric and Hannah. Then we put our extra bags away in their car. We took a bus ride to the trail head and started hiking. Even though it was hot, Acadian and I went ahead super fast. We stopped at a goat farm and when the rest of the group came thirty minutes later, Daddy had a talk about staying with the group. Then we ate some Swiss Haribo gummies that Eric and Hannah had brought. Then we hiked a little more to our lunch spot which had a swing and two border collie puppies. Acadian and I shared a cheese and potato dish called a rosti. It was very yummy. I also drank a flower syrup juice. When we finished lunch, we walked through a field of cows and they started following us in a line. We eventually made it to the hut where we all wanted to shower. We got two shower keys to take turns. Mommy and Grampy showered and then Mommy gave Grampy the key but Grampy had left his key in his shower. Then Grampy came down to give the key he had gotten to me. At dinner, we ate pork with a tomato sauce and no one knew where the missing key was because they thought I should have had two keys because I was the last one who showered and Mommy said that she had given her key directly to me even though she hadn’t. Everyone started getting mad and accusing me even though I hadn't done ANYTHING. But finally, everyone realized what happened. For dessert we had peaches and yogurt. The next day we hiked to a restaurant with pasta and then went down to a cold lake where Hannah dunked her full body multiple times. After that, we hiked to the hut which didn’t have a shower and had a portapotty. We played the piano and then ate yummy Mac and cheese. Before going to bed we went marmot watching and saw a few as well as a fox trying to hunt them. While we were watching them Acadian and I got a bad rash from some nettle plants and it kept me up for a long time. In the morning I wasn’t very hungry but I ate a bit of toast and really enjoyed the house made kiwi jam. Then we started hiking but I realized I forgot to fill my water and so I had to go all the way back down again. We stopped by a freezing cold lake where Mommy dunked her full body. Acadian and I skipped stones and Acadian got 17 skips from a rock. Daddy made me dunk my head under a cold stream of the water and it was so cold I got a headache. By lunch time I was super hungry because I had only eaten one piece of toast with jam and so I ordered a burger. It was very tasty and Hannah Acadian and I all played a card game called Spot it. Then Acadian and I ran down the hill but it started to rain and there were some thunder claps so we stayed away from the metal sign pole. We eventually got past everything and got to a town where we pet some goats on the trail and made our way to the hut. At the hut was a big white dog. I tried to pet it but it growled. We dropped off out stuff and saw that there were three triple bunk beds which we immediately claimed. For dinner we had pork and most of us wanted to shower because we had two days worth of sweat and grime on us but unfortunately the shower water was not heated at all and so we had to take freezing cold showers. I took the cold shower because for me it is hard to sleep when I’m grimy. Hannah showed us a cool video game on her phone called Sneaky Sasquatch which was a fun game and we played a game inside of a game inside of a game. At the triple bunk place I had the best sleep. In the morning we woke up and ate some toast and jam and started hiking. It began raining and started to hail and I didn’t have my raincoat on, only shorts and a t-shirt. I had to dig through all my stuff with hail stinging my back to find my rain gear which was conveniently located at the very bottom of my pack. I was very cold and we stopped at a hut along to way for hot chocolate and bouillon while we warmed up. The rain cleared up and we hiked to a muddy lake where Hannah and Eric went for a swim. After a long while of hiking through intermittent hail, we got to the lunch place where two twins who were kids took our order and made our food. I ate rosti. As we walked up the path to the hut we would be staying at, huge herds of sheep rushed past. We got to the hut called La Torche and ate meat with gravy. There were showers and you had to insert a coin and press the button for hot water but Mommy and Acadian didn’t see the button so they took a cold shower. I got to take a nice hot one because I pressed the button. We played Sneaky Sasquatch and went to bed. The next morning our shoes were still wet which made it gross to put our feet in. We hiked for a while and then got onto a road which took a super long time. We eventually made it to the bus stop and played Sneaky Sasquatch on the bus. Then we got our bags from Eric’s car and I got a blue slushee from the convenience store. Then we got on the train and said bye to Eric and Hannah. Grampy came with us and got off at the airport stop. We got off soon after to start our Italy eating trip.

After we got off of the train, we headed to Hotel Cornavin which was super close. Then we went to eat fondue at a historic restaurant which even had a full suit of armor with a sword and shield. It was good and got some Swiss chocolate too. The flavors were a chunk of strawberry, a chunk of orange dark chocolate and other miniature chocolates. We tried some of chocolates and slept. Then the next morning we woke up at 5:30 to take the early train to the airport. We got there, went through security, and waited to load. We sat on the plane for a while but it wasn’t taking off because of a technical issue. They told us that they were sending the mechanics over to analyze the plane and after about ten more minutes they told us that we had to get off because the flight was CANCELLED!!! 🤯😢🤬😱😵👎💥 We had to get onto a bus which took us to the airport but luckily we were rescheduled to a flight at 5:00 pm which was good but it meant we woke up early for nothing. They gave us $20 in airport restaurant credits which we used at Burger King which was one of the worst meals of my life. My burger was so abhorrent I could only stomach three bites. I spelt “yuck” with the soggy fries before we threw everything out. Later we got on another airport bus to get on our flight. We were glad because we had booked a fancy hotel and a nice restaurant and it would have been a huge waste of money if we had to stay at the airport. We arrived pretty late, dropped off our packs and walked to the restaurant. On the menu it said “Fuck Cancer” and it had super yummy pasta ragú. For desert we had homemade gelato from a famous shop and I had hazelnut and it was super good so I decided to try the hazelnut flavor at every gelato store we ate at. The next day Daddy got a rental car and we drove to a farm to eat lunch. Apparently they grow and make almost everything you are served directly at the farm. I liked the tomato soup. Then we visited a few towns where Daddy bought a $160 WINE 🍷!!!! 🤯🤨😟😵😐😬💸 WHY. I HAVE NO IDEA. But AnyWAYS we had some yummy gelato. I of course chose hazelnut. The NEXT day we went to a town called San Gimignano and had delicious sandwiches and even took a picture with the chef. Then we visited a cheese and wine making farm for a tour and tasting. The cheese was very tasty and my favorite was the mozzarella like one. Finally, we went back to our hotel. So on the fourth day, we got up and went to Siena. We had breakfast at our hotel and checked out. At Siena we visited a church with lots of cool paintings statues and murals. They had a library room with old handwritten books. Then we ate some panini sandwiches which were pretty good but not as good as the ones we had yesterday. We sat at a ledge to eat our sandwiches and some random dude walked up and told us that we should get off. He told us someone might want to buy a cigarette from the store window behind us so we asked him if he wanted to buy one, but he said no and stormed away. No one ever came to buy a cigarette and so we got up to go to some museums. We went to a store to buy some water because we were running out but Mommy only bought one 1.5 liter bottle. We wanted more but MOMMY thought we didn’t need more (by the end of the day we’d bought three more). Then we went to a gelato store and of course I got hazelnut, but it wasn’t as good as the first gelato place. Finally, near the end of the day we visited a torture museum which Acadian and I had wanting to see. In it we learned of all sorts of interesting ways people used to be tortured such as their feet being licked by a goat or being stuffed in a barrel full of poop. We ended the day by eating at a restaurant where I shared some yummy tagliatelle with meat sauce with Acadian. We stayed the night at a place called Casual Hotels. Acadian and I had a room and Mommy and Daddy had a room. The next morning we had a yummy breakfast but my pancakes had some unmixed baking soda which tasted gross. After that we rushed to the Duomo but we got there late for our scheduled visit. Lucky in the next time block the admittance person was on the phone and he just ushered us inside without looking much at our tickets. We had to do a lot of steps but it was worth it. After a while of climbing we got to see the huge painted dome which depicted Jesus, hell, heaven, and a bunch of monsters. After a little more climbing we came out on the top which had a great view. After climbing the Duomo we had to climb EVEN MORE. 🤦‍♂️ We climbed a tall bell tower and even got to hear the bell ring which was very loud and we had to cover our ears. The next day we went to see David by Micheal Angelo. It was very big and had a lot of detail, even down to the veins and pupils. We ate at a restaurant where I ate some duck ragú which was very tasty. Then we had gelato and of course I chose hazelnut. It also wasn’t as good as the first day’s. Finally we went back to the hotel and played video games. After that we flew to Zurich. In the morning we ate breakfast at a Turkish place that was just okay. Mommy got trapped in the bathroom because she forgot that doors can either be pulled out OR PUSHED OUT🤨 and a restaurant staff had to open the door for her from the outside because we just watched as the handle jiggled. We bought some chocolate and flew home. THE END!

  2. More bathroom stories! I am happy to read about gelato. The torture museum sounds interesting...and awful for those who were tortured.
