Part 1: Switzerland with Eric, Hannah, Grampy, Mayonnaise, and Sneaky Sasquatch Part 2: Italy, Torture, and the hazelnut gelatos + “If you wish to have a luck, Just dream about a duck”
After we got off of the train, we headed to Hotel Cornavin which was super close. Then we went to eat fondue at a historic restaurant which even had a full suit of armor with a sword and shield. It was good and got some Swiss chocolate too. The flavors were a chunk of strawberry, a chunk of orange dark chocolate and other miniature chocolates. We tried some of chocolates and slept. Then the next morning we woke up at 5:30 to take the early train to the airport. We got there, went through security, and waited to load. We sat on the plane for a while but it wasn’t taking off because of a technical issue. They told us that they were sending the mechanics over to analyze the plane and after about ten more minutes they told us that we had to get off because the flight was CANCELLED!!! 🤯😢🤬😱😵👎💥 We had to get onto a bus which took us to the airport but luckily we were rescheduled to a flight at 5:00 pm which was good but it meant we woke up early for nothing. They gave us $20 in airport restaurant credits which we used at Burger King which was one of the worst meals of my life. My burger was so abhorrent I could only stomach three bites. I spelt “yuck” with the soggy fries before we threw everything out. Later we got on another airport bus to get on our flight. We were glad because we had booked a fancy hotel and a nice restaurant and it would have been a huge waste of money if we had to stay at the airport. We arrived pretty late, dropped off our packs and walked to the restaurant. On the menu it said “Fuck Cancer” and it had super yummy pasta ragú. For desert we had homemade gelato from a famous shop and I had hazelnut and it was super good so I decided to try the hazelnut flavor at every gelato store we ate at. The next day Daddy got a rental car and we drove to a farm to eat lunch. Apparently they grow and make almost everything you are served directly at the farm. I liked the tomato soup. Then we visited a few towns where Daddy bought a $160 WINE 🍷!!!! 🤯🤨😟😵😐😬💸 WHY. I HAVE NO IDEA. But AnyWAYS we had some yummy gelato. I of course chose hazelnut. The NEXT day we went to a town called San Gimignano and had delicious sandwiches and even took a picture with the chef. Then we visited a cheese and wine making farm for a tour and tasting. The cheese was very tasty and my favorite was the mozzarella like one. Finally, we went back to our hotel. So on the fourth day, we got up and went to Siena. We had breakfast at our hotel and checked out. At Siena we visited a church with lots of cool paintings statues and murals. They had a library room with old handwritten books. Then we ate some panini sandwiches which were pretty good but not as good as the ones we had yesterday. We sat at a ledge to eat our sandwiches and some random dude walked up and told us that we should get off. He told us someone might want to buy a cigarette from the store window behind us so we asked him if he wanted to buy one, but he said no and stormed away. No one ever came to buy a cigarette and so we got up to go to some museums. We went to a store to buy some water because we were running out but Mommy only bought one 1.5 liter bottle. We wanted more but MOMMY thought we didn’t need more (by the end of the day we’d bought three more). Then we went to a gelato store and of course I got hazelnut, but it wasn’t as good as the first gelato place. Finally, near the end of the day we visited a torture museum which Acadian and I had wanting to see. In it we learned of all sorts of interesting ways people used to be tortured such as their feet being licked by a goat or being stuffed in a barrel full of poop. We ended the day by eating at a restaurant where I shared some yummy tagliatelle with meat sauce with Acadian. We stayed the night at a place called Casual Hotels. Acadian and I had a room and Mommy and Daddy had a room. The next morning we had a yummy breakfast but my pancakes had some unmixed baking soda which tasted gross. After that we rushed to the Duomo but we got there late for our scheduled visit. Lucky in the next time block the admittance person was on the phone and he just ushered us inside without looking much at our tickets. We had to do a lot of steps but it was worth it. After a while of climbing we got to see the huge painted dome which depicted Jesus, hell, heaven, and a bunch of monsters. After a little more climbing we came out on the top which had a great view. After climbing the Duomo we had to climb EVEN MORE. 🤦♂️ We climbed a tall bell tower and even got to hear the bell ring which was very loud and we had to cover our ears. The next day we went to see David by Micheal Angelo. It was very big and had a lot of detail, even down to the veins and pupils. We ate at a restaurant where I ate some duck ragú which was very tasty. Then we had gelato and of course I chose hazelnut. It also wasn’t as good as the first day’s. Finally we went back to the hotel and played video games. After that we flew to Zurich. In the morning we ate breakfast at a Turkish place that was just okay. Mommy got trapped in the bathroom because she forgot that doors can either be pulled out OR PUSHED OUT🤨 and a restaurant staff had to open the door for her from the outside because we just watched as the handle jiggled. We bought some chocolate and flew home. THE END!
Wow, thanks for throwing me under the bus!
ReplyDeleteMore bathroom stories! I am happy to read about gelato. The torture museum sounds interesting...and awful for those who were tortured.
